What was it like shooting a movie and working a full time job at the same time?
It was fun. I liked the fact that my days were full and that I was busy. If anything it kept me really motivated to work harder, to try harder. Having the many responsibilities that I had, I couldn't afford to get lazy or lose concentration. So, in the end, it was definitely a time in my life that I felt completely focused and organized, which is where I like to be, but not always am.

What is your fondest memory associated with 'charlotte sometimes'?
Honestly, I can't specifically find a fondest memory. I loved being on the set. And each day it got better and better. Being part of film, working on film, is like fantasy fulfillment to me. So, I would have to say that the whole experience is one big fond memory.

How is the real Michael different from the movie Michael?
Haha. Wouldn't you like to know? haha j/k. Michael, from the movie, definitely shares characteristics with me, but in the end is limited in comparison. That's all I can say about that.

Where did you grow up?
Grew up in Freedom/Watsonville, Ca.

What are your hobbies?
I try to do as many things as I can. So the list is long. One day I'll do one thing the next I'll do another. I tend to get into things for periods, whether long or short, of time. Right now I just like spending time with my girlfriend. She's my number one hobby, then city league softball, or is it city league softball then my girlfriend. I don't know. Maybe you should ask her.

What first attracted you to the role of 'Michael'?
I identified with him right away. I thought I recognized many things in his character that were relative to me, not just in terms of my ethnic background, because that came second, but in terms of him as a person. So it wasn't hard to envision me as him when I was reading the script.

How did the character of 'Michael' change from the page to the screen?
I think his character changed in order to suit me in my own way. I don't know if that makes sense, but he definitely is not the same on paper as he is on film. I think Eric freed Michael up a bit, in order to help me find a balance. So that was generous of him. Basically, Michael could have been this way or another way, so if anything, I helped him be this way.

Do you prefer acting or directing or both?
I like both. I like the whole thing. Of course, it wasn't until I did 'Charlotte' that I truly admitted that I liked acting as an equal. In general, I just liked this whole medium. Its what I always wanted to be a part of.

What is your favorite scene in the film?
Some of my favorite scenes ended up not being in the film. haha. But, if there was one, I think the final scene between Darcy and Justin in the hotel is my favorite.

What is your favorite scene that didn't make into the film?
There was a scene in which Lori and Justin argue in the bathroom. I liked that one a lot. I can see how it didn't fit. But I thought the performances were great.

What happens to 'Michael' in the future?
I guess he and Lori have their own movie. Maybe Byler will get a hint a do a sequel.

If you didn't make movies what would you do?
Don't want to think about that right now. Too scary. Jump off a building maybe.
